I. Standard Service Life Under Normal Conditions
Ordinary industrial hydraulic stations with clean working conditions
Service life: 1500~2000 hours
General working conditions with slight dust pollution
Service life: 800~1200 hours
Harsh working conditions (construction machinery, mining, metallurgy, heavy dust)
Service life: 300~500 hours
Wind power gearboxes and steam turbine lubrication systems
Clean operating conditions, service life up to 2000~3000 hours
II. Service Life by Filter Element Type
Glass fiber high-pressure filter element (BN4HC): Large dirt holding capacity with the longest service life, normally over 1500 hours.
Paper filter element: Economical type with low dirt holding capacity, service life only 600~1000 hours.
Stainless steel mesh filter element: Reusable after cleaning, no fixed service life; clean it once contaminated.
III. Time Is Not the Only Standard — Two More Accurate Replacement Criteria
Differential pressure clogging alarm
Replace immediately when the differential pressure reaches 0.5~0.8 MPa; do not continue using it reluctantly.
Oil contamination level
Replace the filter element regardless of service life if the oil particle concentration exceeds the standard, or the oil turns black, becomes emulsified due to water ingress.
IV. Key Factors Affecting Service Life
Factors shortening service life
Heavy ambient dust and poor fuel tank tightness
Abundant metal impurities during the running-in period of new equipment
Hydraulic oil contaminated by water and impurities, or oil deterioration
Methods to extend service life
Install pre-coarse filtration
Regularly monitor oil contamination level
Keep the tank breather valve intact for dust and water prevention
