How is the cleaning mode of the self-cleaning filter triggered?

Trigger Modes of Self-cleaning Filter

There are four mainstream trigger modes for self-cleaning filters, which can be used independently or in linkage combination:

Differential Pressure Trigger (Most Commonly Used)

A differential pressure transmitter or differential pressure switch is installed at the filter inlet and outlet. When the filter screen is clogged by intercepted impurities, the pressure difference between inlet and outlet rises. Once it reaches the set differential pressure threshold (normally 0.05～0.15MPa), the system automatically starts cleaning and drainage. After cleaning, the differential pressure drops and the system stops automatically.

Time Timing Trigger

The PLC control system has a built-in timer, allowing manual setting of the cleaning interval (such as 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours). When the set time is reached, it will forcibly start a round of automatic cleaning and drainage regardless of clogging conditions. It is suitable for working conditions with stable water quality and uniform impurity content.

Manual Forced Trigger

The on-site electric control box is equipped with a manual button. Operators can press the start key at any time to trigger forced cleaning with one click. It is temporarily used for maintenance, trial operation, or sudden deterioration of water quality.

Remote PLC / Central Control Linked Trigger

Connect to the factory DCS and central control system; the upper computer can send remote signals to trigger cleaning. It can also set an alarm interlock for overdue cleaning. If no self-cleaning is performed for a long time, it will start automatically and compulsorily, suitable for fully automatic unattended working conditions.
