Replacement Cycle and Fault Diagnosis Tips for HYDAC Filter Elements

1. Standard Replacement Cycles (Standard Conditions: Ambient temperature, mineral hydraulic oil, clean environment, 24-hour continuous operation)

Glass fiber filter elements for pressure lines (BN series, β≥200): Basic service cycle is 2,000~3,000 hours; reduced to 1,500~2,000 hours for precision servo systems.

Return line filter elements: 2,500~3,500 hours under standard conditions; cut to 1,800~2,200 hours in heavily contaminated environments.

Stainless steel mesh filter elements (W series): Reusable after cleaning. First cleaning is required after 2,000 hours; replace the whole element after a total service life of 8,000~10,000 hours.

Special conditions: The replacement cycle shall be halved for new equipment, newly acid-cleaned pipelines, water-contaminated or emulsified oil, and high-dust working environments.

2. Differential Pressure Judgment (Primary Replacement Criterion)

Replace the filter immediately once the built-in differential pressure alarm switch is triggered (typical alarm value: 0.2~0.35 MPa). A sharp rise in differential pressure indicates severe clogging of the filter media. Even without an alarm, replace the filter when reaching the scheduled service life to prevent performance degradation.

3. Common Fault Diagnosis Tips

Sudden pressure rise: Pores are blocked by foreign particles, sludge or colloids. Check the tank breather and verify if the oil is contaminated or deteriorated by water.

Stable differential pressure yet aggravated component wear: Filter media rupture, end cap debonding or seal failure causing unfiltered fluid to bypass. Shut down the equipment immediately to replace the filter and inspect seals.

Abnormally high pressure during cold startup: Undersized filter specification or partial clogging; also check for excessive oil viscosity.

Frequent bypass valve activation: Severe filter clogging. Stop operation at once, as the filtration function will be completely lost.

Visual inspection: Replace the filter directly regardless of service hours if cracks on end caps, leaking aged seals or deformed filter cartridges are found.
