Quartz sand filter as a filter material uses quartz sand as filler. It is beneficial to remove impurities in water and is widely used in various water treatment equipment. After a long time of use, many microorganisms and garbage will accumulate on the filter. What problems should be paid attention to when the filter is backwashed?
When backwashing, in order to ensure that the filter material particles can have enough gaps so that the dirt can be quickly discharged from the filter layer with water, the expansion rate of the filter layer should be larger. However, when the expansion rate is too large, the number of particles in the filter material per unit volume will be reduced, and the chance of particle collision will also be reduced, so it will be unfavorable for cleaning. The filter is first flushed with air, and then backflushed with water: first, lower the water level of the filter tank to 100 mm above the surface of the filter layer, let in air for a few minutes, and then backflush with water. It is suitable for filters with heavy surface contamination and light internal contamination. The corresponding valve should be closed in place; otherwise, when the water level drops below the surface of the filter layer, the upper part of the filter layer will not be infiltrated by water. During the up and down disturbance of the particles, the dirt cannot be discharged, but will move to the depth of the filter layer.
