How to select the appropriate filtration accuracy for oil filter?
The selection of filter accuracy of oil filter is mainly affected by two factors.
First, oil demand. Insulating oil, for example, needs to be filtered through high precision to achieve high insulation value, and large module gear requires much coarser impurities.
Two, the viscosity of oil. High viscosity oil can not pass through the fine screen, need to reduce the accuracy. If the one-sided emphasis on the cleanliness of the oil and the selection of finer screen, it will add the operation cost of the oil filter. Due to:
(1) the filter element is always resistant to cold, and the need for frequent cleaning and replacement of the filter element.
(2) Increase the axial pressure, so that the oil can pass through the filter screen faster, but often it will crush the filter element.
(3) Add preheating tank to improve temperature and reduce viscosity.
Generally speaking, the filtration accuracy of fine filtration grade is selected as follows:
(1) Insulation oil, choose 1~5μm.
(2) Lubricating oil and turbine oil below 46#, choose 10~20μm.
(3) Internal combustion engine oil, gear oil choose 20~50μm.
To sum up, in order to achieve a good filtering effect, it is necessary to select the filtering accuracy of the oil filter and play its due effect.
