High-temperature operating scenarios, including thermal power units, industrial heat-intensive workshops and tropical field stations, impose severe thermal stress on lubricating and insulating oil. When oil circulates near high-temperature components, its physical and chemical stability deteriorates easily. Even a small amount of water mixed into the oil will trigger a series of adverse reactions under heat: moisture accelerates additive hydrolysis, promotes oil oxidation and sludge generation, and forms corrosive substances that erode metal surfaces and insulating materials. Meanwhile, high temperature makes tiny solid wear debris and oxidation carbon deposits suspend evenly in the oil. These fine contaminants are difficult to remove by simple filtration and will continuously scratch sealing surfaces, block oil passages and weaken heat transfer efficiency. If water and particles are not eliminated in time, oil cleanliness keeps declining, which greatly raises the risk of bearing failure, insulation breakdown and unplanned shutdown.
The vacuum oil purifier is designed to handle dehydration and cleanliness upgrading synchronously in high-temperature environments. Different from coalescing purification which is limited by emulsion state, vacuum purification relies on the vapor pressure difference to separate water from oil. Polluted oil first goes through precise temperature regulation. The control system stabilizes the oil at a moderate treatment temperature, which improves the diffusion efficiency of water molecules without causing excessive thermal aging of base oil and functional additives. Then the oil enters the vacuum separation chamber. Under deep vacuum, free water, emulsified water and dissolved water turn into water vapor and are extracted out of the system. After vacuum dehydration, the oil flows through multi-stage precision filter assemblies to trap carbon particles, metal wear dust and oxidation sludge, effectively raising the oil cleanliness class.
Parameter control is the core of stable purification under high ambient temperature. Since the surrounding environment already carries heat load, operators cannot simply increase the heating temperature of the purifier. Excessively high temperature will speed up oil aging and produce new decomposition gas. It is necessary to match the flow rate with vacuum degree according to the oil type and initial water content. The differential pressure of filter elements needs frequent inspection; sludge accumulates faster in hot oil, and clogged filters will reduce processing capacity and cause pressure fluctuation. In addition, the heat dissipation module of the purifier itself should be well ventilated to prevent the vacuum pump and electrical components from overheating during continuous operation.
This integrated purification scheme brings obvious benefits compared with oil replacement. Replacing degraded oil consumes high material and waste disposal costs, and usually requires equipment shutdown. The vacuum oil purifier can adopt off-line purification during maintenance or bypass online treatment for slight contamination. After treatment, the oil’s water content, particle concentration and oxidation degree all return to the qualified range. Dry and clean oil forms a complete protective oil film on friction pairs and maintains stable dielectric performance for oil-filled electrical equipment. It slows down the aging rate of oil, extends the service cycle and reduces the overall operation and maintenance expenditure of the system.
In conclusion, for high-temperature working conditions where water pollution and particle contamination coexist, vacuum oil purification realizes efficient dehydration and continuous improvement of oil cleanliness. With scientific temperature and vacuum control, it removes hazardous contaminants while protecting oil performance. It serves as an effective routine maintenance method to stabilize oil quality, reduce equipment wear and hidden faults, and support the long-term reliable operation of high-temperature oil systems.
