What is the working principle of the return line filter?

The return line filter is installed on the oil return pipeline of a hydraulic system. Its core working principle is as follows:

Contaminated hydraulic oil flowing back from various hydraulic actuators enters the filter housing following the set flow direction.

When the oil passes through the fine filter element inside, solid impurities such as metal particles, dust, rubber debris and oxide sediments in the oil are trapped and intercepted on the surface or inside of the filter medium.

Clean filtered hydraulic oil flows out from the filter element’s inner cavity and returns smoothly to the hydraulic oil tank, achieving purification of circulating oil.

It is equipped with an internal bypass relief valve. When the filter element is clogged and the pressure difference exceeds the set value, the valve opens automatically. Unfiltered oil directly bypasses the filter element to avoid system backpressure overload and ensure the normal operation of the hydraulic system.

A pressure differential indicator is matched to monitor the clogging degree of the filter element in real time, reminding timely replacement and maintenance.
